Lobbies, Offices, Schools

These designs delves into interior sites with multiple users, a variety of uses, and the needs of diverse users.  With different cultures, ages, and often altering spaces due to fluctuating counts of people – creating mobile structures is taken into consideration.  Additional questions of cultural use, hours of use, and public policies such as ADA are explored and applied.

Applications include gathering spaces, mobile seating options, indoor park and mobile designs for improving cubicle and partition design, classrooms, offices, work experience, and education.  Design practices include green walls, hydroponic designs, aeroponics design, air quality improvement, grey water, plants needed per square foot for air contaminant cleaning, sources of contaminants, local sources for materials, recycling, and composting.  Unique grey water sources- i.e. water from air conditioners and dehumidifiers are also explored.

This sites are likely to need more green designs than apartments and homes- not only due to the larger site scale, but also due to the quantity of people who use the space.  Green designs can supplement existing engineered systems for air quality.  Air quality can be improved with green design, as well as grey water use options in these sites.
